Raster to Vector Conversion Software - WiseImage

Problems

Customer was required to duplicate pattern cut outs for the purpose of car interior customisation.

Solutions

The CAD operator received the individual pattern pieces which had been removed from the vehicle. These pattern pieces could be leather, cloth or vinyl. They then traced these on to cardboard to create firm templates. The templates are scanned and using Wiseimage PRO auto-trace command; with settings for outline recognition they trace the template into a CAD format. The vectorised templates are then placed to fit economically onto a pelt of leather. The CAD system then sends the drawing to the cutter which cuts the pattern ready for stitching.

This has been a simple method for the operator to use in order to save their company many manual man hours of working with flimsy materials. Furthermore, they now have a library of various car seats from which they can now simply extract from their existing library. Initially they felt the investment was rather pricey but have definitely seen the benefit after years of using the software, especially in the quick turnaround that they can provide customisation now. They now also do repairs of panels to match existing interior.

They must have adapted scanned drawings with regard to fire preparedness and updated escape routes.

They get scanned drawings from a subcontractor, and then update these drawings, and subsequently published the sketches where people can see them. The corrections made must be extreme accurate, why they chose WiseImage.

• They also need to process and convert from raster TIF to DWG.

• WiseImage for AutoCAD to process raster drawings in the background of AutoCAD drawings. We call these hybrid file and they are kept at both TIF and DWG.

Problems

The city offices send maps (image data) to them. And they had to add design on the maps and send them back to the offices. Because the scanned data was not accurate and they had to trace the necessary parts of the maps with CAD. And it was a time-consuming task. They are required to make long drawings that consist of several maps. They did not have a way to connect scanned maps accurately, they had to trace them with CAD. Sometimes according to the situation, they needed to submit 3D data, they needed to trace it with CAD. However, they had to convert to CAD and it was a lot of work.

Solutions

Using calibration function, they could have the accuracy as almost same as the original map. Accordingly, the map part was raster data and the drawing part was DXF hybrid data made with CAD and the work hour is saved a lot. By connecting maps that are calibrated, they could make a long map into one drawing. Using trace conversion, they could convert contours etc. to accurate 3D where it is necessary. It takes less time than tracing with CAD. And the personnel did not have to be an expert to do the task and became moreefficient. They are using automatic R2V function only making data as recognized into the CAD.

Problems

The municipality needs to issue a file (building permit) containing an image of a parcel and the building; along with it are the coordinates of the parcel and some other information that needs to be added later. These inputs are provided by the in-house Oracle application; One objective is to avoid any modification to the Oracle application.

Solutions

The output is automatically generated by WiseImage.Using its own scripting language which the Oracle application cannot understand. So, to achieve this, a Visual Basic application (VB) is created to link the Oracle application with WiseImage. The VB application generates the script containing the inputs from the Oracle application; and passes it to WiseImage. WiseImage reads and processes the script generating the output. Once an output is generated, WiseImage returns it back to the Oracle application for issuing the permit. This was an easy way to edit it as well for amending errors instead of redrawing manually as before.

KPN Switches from TIF to PNG files

Solutions

KPN is a long time user of WiseImage, and even RxSpotlight. SInce almost 20 years they use the CSoft technology to make changes to their old drawing. Now they change from TIF files tp PNG files. After 10 years of using WiseImage 6 they upgrade end on 2104 to WiseImage 14 because this products can handle that.
